FutureINDesign (FIND) is a workforce development organization that focuses on underserved communities in Utah that are talented and looking for high demand job training. There are two programs offered thru FIND Young Adult Career Readiness Program and the Adult Manufacturing Program.

Currently, applications are being accepted for the Young Adult Career Readiness Program and the interest has been remarkable. “I am astonished, I am shocked, it’s unprecedented. We’ve had the advertisement opened for two days now and we already have 15 applications and we have for this first cohort 25 spots,” said Chief Executive Officer, Nicholina Womack. “I think it is a telling sign that our mission is right in line and accurate that young people are very interested in preparing themselves for the future.” The program gives students training by professionals, real world experiences by allowing students to learn in actual work environments of the program’s business partners, plus students can receive school credit and stipends while learning a tech and design trade.

Students wanting to apply to the program must do so by January 23 and interviews will be scheduled for January 24 and 25. Applications can be found online at https://bit.ly/2FqV4kf

The Adult Manufacturing program is a 10-week training program that will work with a company called Blacksmith International. “They already do manufacturing, they’re masters in it, the manufacturing process in China and in India and the CEO is from a rural town in Montana and he had the opportunity to go to India and see the amazing success they are having in manufacturing and came back here and said we can do this with our rural towns,” stated Womack. The program will teach the skills needed to land a job interview with the company, plus earn college credit while learning a trade skill. There is an Information Session scheduled for any interested individuals at the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments located at 375 South Carbon Ave on Thursday, January 24 at 6:00 pm.
