Kyson Stilson had a career night scoring 46 points but it wasn’t enough as the Spartans fell to San Juan 105-100 on Friday night in Blanding.
Stilson led all scorers in a game that saw both teams go over the century mark. Only one team in all classifications across the state went for more than 100 points and unfortunately the Spartans played them. Cade Brazier and Brax Jensen both scored 12 points and Brodie Tuttle threw in 11 in this highly entertaining match up.
For San Juan Jaxon Torgerson had 27 points, 10 points over his season average. Shaw Nielson added 23 points and Ramsay Holliday scored 18 as part of a well balanced offensive attack that saw four Broncos score in double figures.
But the story of the night was Stilson who is averaging just over 26 points a game this season. In his last three games he has scored a combined 118 points and continues to find the bottom of the basket.
San Juan now sits at 11-4 and 3-2 in Region 15 standings which puts them in third place behind South Sevier and Richfield.
Emery (11-4, 3-3 in region) sits in fourth place with seven games left, will meet up again with San Juan on the 8th of February at the Spartan Center. Up next though is a home game on the 23rd in an always entertaining match up against South Sevier (12-2, 4-1 in region). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
