The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce held their annual Installation Banquet on January 17 at the Carbon Country Club. The event serves as a yearly venue to recognize outgoing board members and welcome those who have been newly appointed.
“Every January we have what we call an Installation Banquet to where we initiate our new Executive Board Directors,” said newly appoint President Colleen Loveless. “This year for the year 2019 I’m going to be the President, Barbie Haeck with be our Vice President, Kerrie Barker is our Secretary, Jana Hopes is our Treasurer and Ryan Murray is our immediate Past-President – so he was the president in 2018.” New Board Members for 2019 are Robert Oliver, Jennifer Colosimo, Ann Andersson, Richard Tatton, Amanda Paiz, Danielle Pendergrass, Darin Birch and Timothy Frame.
The first monthly luncheon for the year will take place on February 21 at 12:00 pm at Ascension St. Matthew’s Church located at 522 North Homestead Boulevard. “What the Chamber does is we have a luncheon every month and it’s on the third Thursday of every month. So, we change positions as far as who hosts it, we change those that cater it. We try to make sure that we get a really good mix of the people that are within our community to be a part of this event,” explained Loveless. This month’s event will be catered by Groggs Pinnacle Brewery.
The luncheon will have Justin Anthony as the guest speaker who is the Business Outreach Director, United States Senator Mike Lee.
There will be two businesses featured for the Business Spotlights, the Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) program which is a community-wide effort to support, grow and enhance the economic impact of existing business and Original Creations who has the largest collection of mining-related bronze sculptures and specializes in one of kind sculptures, engravings, trophies, plaques and metal work.
Community Service Spotlight is on United Way of Eastern Utah.
The deadline to RSVP for the February Luncheon has passed but the next monthly luncheon will be held on March 21.
