The Emery County Historical Society invites the community out for a presentation on Sam Gilson, Salina Canyon, Castle Valley and The Irish on Thursday, February 28 at 6:30 pm at the Emery County Courthouse located at 75 East Main Street in Castle Dale.

The evening’s presentation will be conducted by Emery County Historian, Wade Allinson who will share the history behind the Salina Canyon and Castle Valley. His impressive presentation will also include the history of Sam Gilson, The Salina Stock Company and The Ireland Land and Cattle Company.

The Emery County Historical Society is a group of people who enjoy learning about history. Members of the group who meet once a month for a public meeting are some local historians or history buffs.  Most of the monthly meetings feature a guest that presents an aspect of history that is related to the Castle Country area.

The cost to attend monthly events/meeting is annual dues of $5.00 per person.
