It’s time for Price City’s Annual St Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 16 at 12:00 pm on Main Street. Entries in the parade will need to check-in to line-up at 11:00 am on the corner of 600 East and 100 South.
“We need more entries. I know people are looking outside and they’re saying ‘there’s still snow on the ground, what are you doing having a parade?’ But you know what, its springtime let’s celebrate this holiday and let’s get out and enjoy a parade,” stated Price City Council Member, Rick Davis. The parade will start at noon on Main Street with the parade route stretching from 600 East down to First West.
Registration for the parade is free and open to anyone in the community. One of the benefits in participating in the parade is it’s a wonderful advertisement opportunity for any business, sports team, school and civic organizations. “You can go to Price City webpage, you can pick up an application and put that application in that will be sent to Megan and she will be coordinating all of the parade efforts up there,” explained Davis. The types of parade entries can range from a float, to a vehicle or even a group just walking the parade route the possibilities are endless. The registration form can be found at http://www.priceutah.net/ where the rules and regulations are listed. All participants are strongly urged to read all the rules and regulations to keep spectators safe throughout the parade route.
New this year there will be recognition incentives for participants like media coverage including social media, radio, live feeds, drone footage and television. Plus, the usual float awards will be presented for Mayor’s Choice, Most Beautiful, Funniest, Most Festive and Chairman’s Choice. There has been a new category added this year called Viewer’s Choice, which will be chosen during the parade by spectators along the route who will text from their cell phones.
