ST. GEORGE- Utah State Eastern Softball went 0-3 against the Snow College Badgers in St. George on Friday.

Due to weather and field conditions, both teams made the trip to Desert Hills High School to complete the series.

With the big possibility of rain on Friday and Saturday, the Eagles squeezed out three games on Friday and returned home on Saturday.

Snow would open the series defeating the Eagles 11-6.

The Eagles started off the first inning with a 1-0 nothing lead but the Badgers came back to score three and would go to score a few each inning. The Eagles were scoreless from the third to fifth inning, when the sixth inning came around, they were down 10-2 and scored four more innings to get back into the game. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough, and the Badgers took the game.

The second game of the day the Eagles took a loss of 6-3

The first inning both teams were scoreless then during the bottom of the second inning Sophomore Jaiden Smith hit a two-run homer to put the eagles ahead. They kept the badgers off the scoreboard until the forth inning when they scored three to tie up the game. The Badgers would then take the lead in the fourth and kept it the rest of the game.

In the final game of the day the Eagles lost 5-2 to Snow.

The Eagles were the first to score but the Badgers quickly came back. They took the lead with a solo hoer by freshman Alicia Cruz in fourth inning, but once again the Badgers came back and kept the lead.

USU Eastern softball now is 2-13 on the season and 0-3 in conference play.

They will head to Rangely this weekend for a four-game series against the Spartans.

USU Eastern will return home on March 22 for a series against the College of Southern Nevada.
