The students at Creekview Elementary are busy this week with health conscience topics and events as this is the school’s Health Week, this comes on the heels of the previous week’s quirky to-dos of Dr. Suess activities.

“This week we’re trying to be a little more serious we’re doing our health week this week. We’re focusing on dental health – all the kids got a toothbrush. So, thank you very much to all our generous dentists in our community that helped us to give a toothbrush to all of our kids,” said PTA Member, Valorie Marietti. Over 500 toothbrushes were gathered between the sponsors – Price Pediatric Dental, Dr. Bret K. Lowe, Dr. Mark Olson, Schouten Orthodontics, A Perfect Smile, and Dr. Paul Feller.

The younger grades were given the opportunity on Wednesday to see up close and personal the local fire truck and ambulance as the older children were involved in other activities.

The week will finish off with some guest speakers at a school assembly. “On Friday, I’m really excited about this, we have an assembly – Teresa Martinez from Public Health is coming in the morning to talk about nutrition and then Cody Bunderson from Fierce MMA is going to come talk about bullying, not just about don’t bully but how to handle it when someone else bully’s you,” said Marietti. The week’s long activities were made possible through the organization of Parent Volunteer, Amy Ruggeri. The hope for the week was to share healthy tips and wellness information with all of the students.
