Only in Price City is St. Patrick’s Day celebrated with lots of events and activities that are sure to keep the entire family busy on Saturday, March 16.
The Carbon County Humane Society will kick things off with their Annual Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast set to begin at 9:00 am at the Price City Fire Station. The cost is $5.00 per person. Guests will enjoy green eggs, ham, along with their choice of orange juice and/or coffee. All the proceeds made will assist the Carbon County Humane Society’s programs.
Fitness buffs or leisurely walkers are invited to the attend Washington Federal’s Run, Walk, Be Irish 5K Fun Run/Walk Fundraiser at 9:00 am. The race will start and end at the Price branch located at 308 East Main Street and is open to all ages. The entry fee to participate is “free” – the only thing organizers ask is for every participating athlete to donate a new pair of kids’ shoes (sizes kindergarten thru 12th) or make a cash donation to United Way of Eastern Utah’s Soles 2 Souls Program.
After breakfast and the race, community members can then make their way to Main Street to find a comfortable seat for the city’s parade. Line-up/check-in time for floats will be at 11:00 am at the corner of 600 East and 100 South and the actual parade will start at 12:00 pm. Entries in the parade will be judged and awarded prior to the parade starting in the following categories: Mayor’s Choice, Most Beautiful, Funniest, Most Festive and Chairman’s Choice. The community can then head on over to the Notre Dame Community Hope Center located at 185 North Carbon Avenue after the parade to enjoy the yearly Corn Beef and Cabbage lunch/dinner beginning at noon. The gathering will feature enjoyable activities and opportunity games for the entire family to enjoy throughout the afternoon and evening.
