The Lost and Found Ministries is seeking volunteers to assist them with the construction of a Women’s Recovery Home facility that will be located in the back of the building of their Thrift Store which is located at 275 North Main Street in Helper. The founder of Lost & Found Ministries, David Safford brought along friends John Jones and Charlie Jones to the Castle Country Radio Station to challenge local contractors to volunteer their services and time to help make the Women’s Recovery Home facility a reality.
“So what we do is we administer to the lost and broken. We send people to faith-based treatment centers over in California. We sent 40 people last year to recovery to treatment centers like a ranch style setting but our hope is that we can help them right here in Carbon County,” explained Safford. The Lost and Found Ministries is a non-profit organization that has had tremendous success in helping individuals in the community to seek recovery from drugs and alcohol. Our community knows all too well about the opioid epidemic that has emerged in our area and having a facility here would be beneficial for those community members that are seeking treatment.
“Just like David said, 40 people last year, you’re looking at about $65,000.00 that was put out to put people in treatment for drug problems. The building that they have – me and my wife are donating that building, we actually had it sold at that time but just couldn’t sell it because we could see what David was doing and knew how important it was for our community,” said ministry friend, John Jones. The Lost and Found Ministries is always looking for donations whether that’s monetary or items donated to their Thrift Store that they in turn sell to help gather funds to assist with treatment costs and building renovations. The Thrift Store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Right now, the ministry is looking for contractors to help donate their services and time to the Women’s Recovery Home facility building project. “It will benefit everyone in the community because if one person has an addiction in the community the whole community has that addiction and the costs of those addictions is extreme and if we can help get these people back on their feet so they can have a fruitful life and not have to live with the sorrows of these addictions it would be fantastic. So, I’m calling on all the contractors out there and anybody with skills please step forward and help out to get this building up and running,” stated ministry friend, Charlie Jones. The types of skills needed can range from electrical, plumbing, construction and any other special skills that will benefit the construction of the facility.
