The Spartan soccer team took on the Grand Red Devils on Thursday afternoon, coming up short 2-1 on the road in Moab.

Playing to a scoreless first half , the Spartans lone goal came off the foot of Brock Winter, giving him two goals on the season. Senior Nolan Ramirez and freshman Arthur Hawks each had a goal for Grand.

These two teams will meet up again in late April in Castle Dale and since they are currently sitting in first and second place, that game may have region championship implications.

Emery, who sits at 3-4-2 overall and 2-2 in Region 15 play, has been on quite a tear lately having not lost four out of their last five recording a region win against Manti, and coming away with ties against both North Sanpete and North Sevier.

The Spartans will head to the field again on Thursday the 28th as they take on the  South Sevier Rams (0-4) in Castle Dale. Game time is set for 4:00 pm.
