The Emery Spartan softball team defeated the Richfield Wildcats Tuesday afternoon at home in Castle Dale 8-3.

Led by senior Bailey Huggard with two RBI’s on three hits in four at bats and senior AdriAnne Childs who also had two Rbi’s on two hits, the Spartans were extremely efficient scoring runs in all but two innings.

Defensively Emery used three different pitchers in the game with junior Braileigh Clark getting the win going four innings and allowing two runs on five hits and registering five strike outs.

Richfield was led by Shelby Perschon who had two hits and one run in four at bats. Senior Allie Torgerson pitched a complete game giving up eight runs on 15 hits with two strikeouts.

The win keeps Emery in the thick of the Region 15. They will face Richfield again on the Wildcats home field on Thursday. Next week will bring games on the road at San Juan and Providence Hall and then home a week from this Friday for another match-up against San Juan.
