The Carbon Lady Dinos earned a one-stroke victory at the fifth region meet of the season Wednesday afternoon at the Canyon Hills Golf course, the home site of the Juab Wasps.
Entering the day trailing Providence Hall by 26-strokes for first-place in the in division, Carbon shot a meet best 371. Providence Hall finished in second at 372, followed by Union in third at 416. Juab and Delta rounded out the team scores from the five competing teams.
“The girls played well today. Unfortunately, golf is accumulative scoring and not win, loss,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “We still have a hole to climb out of, but I saw a spark today. I hope that grows into a three-alarm blaze.”
Sam King delivered the top individual score with an 89. Jordan Bianco continued her consistent play by firing a 90, followed by Aubrey Fausett’s 93. Rhiannon Timmons gave the fourth score with a 99.
