The Carbon Dinos earned their first Region 14 win of the season by topping the Providence Hall Patriots 1-0 Tuesday afternoon at Carbon High School.
Looking to rebound from back-to-back ties, Carbon scored the game’s only goal in the first ten minutes as Luis Estudillo found the back of the net. The defense managed to keep control of the contest throughout the remainder of the game.
“Everyone wanted revenge after losing 8-0 at the start of the season,” stated senior Parker Humes. “We fought really hard the entire game,” said Brock Morris.
Tuesday’s win marked the second consecutive shutout for Carbon goalie Dax Humes. The first came last week in a 0-0 tie with the Union Cougars.
Tuesday’s win moves Carbon to 1-7-2 overall for the season and gives them a record of 1-4-2 in Region 15 play.
The Dino’s will face the Delta Rabbits away on Thursday. This will be the second meeting between the two teams. The first contest ended 4-0 in favor of Delta back on March 19.
