Our wonderful husband, father, grandfather and dear friend, Richard Kenneth Koncher, 84, passed away May 10, 2019 at Utah Valley Specialty Hospital in Provo.

He was born December 29, 1934 in National, Utah to Louis Koncher Sr., and Francis Kadunc. On July 21, 1962 Richard married Donna Lee Greenwood in Price, Utah.

Richard was a longtime resident of Carbon County who honorably served his country in the Air Force from 1953-1961. Upon returning from the service he worked various jobs in the area. Richard was employed at the Carbon School District, Emery Mining Company and Utah Department of Transportation where he made many lifelong friends. Richard was very proud of his Bohunk heritage. He loved food especially Klobasa that his dad made, Petitsa or any of the sweets for that matter. He also enjoyed polka music.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Koncher, Price; two daughters and one son, Collette Marie (Dave) Child, Price, Michelle Lee Barkley, Price, Bryan Kenneth Koncher, Heber; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Francis; brothers, Louie, Jr. and William.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Castleview, Utah Valley Specialty and Timpanogos Hospitals for their wonderful care of Richard.

Memorial graveside services will be Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., in the Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Richard online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
