HealthInsight along with the Utah Department of Health (UDOH) Violence and Injury Prevention Program (VIPP) are hosting an education session for dentists, oral surgeons and dental hygienists on May 23 at 6:00 pm at the Castleview Hospital Classroom located at 300 Hospital Drive in Price. This educational seminar will talk about the 2019 updates on safe prescribing and the use of the controlled substance database. CDE credit is available for attendees.
Dr. David Anderson, DMD, MD, Director of Oral Surgery, Roseman University of Health Sciences will speak on safe prescribing, use of controlled substance data base, accordance with prescribing laws and local resources available to providers in Carbon County. The cost to attend is free and dinner will be provided.
Following this session participant will be able to:
– Identify best practices for reducing inappropriate and dangerous opioid prescribing to apply to their practice setting
– Understand and list the key steps to implement appropriate usage of the Utah Controlled Substance Database in their practice setting
– Identify and locate existing resources for patient referrals regarding patient opioid misuse and abuse
