The United Way of Eastern Utah is excited to invite the community out for their 2019 Fun in the Sun 5K event taking place on Saturday, June 8 at 9:00 am at the Castleview Hospital South Entrance on 300 North Hospital Drive in Price.

“At 9:00 am we’re going to have – we’re calling it the Tough Run. At 11:00 am we’ll be doing a bike ride and then at 1:00 pm we want families to come out and do a family walk/hike/run whatever they want to do but just make sure the families are together,” said United Way of Eastern Utah Representative, Alexandria Bonaquisto. Registration will take place at 8:30 am for the Tough Run, 10:30 am for the Bike Ride and 12:30 pm for the Family Run Walk. There will also be free hot dogs from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for participants to enjoy.

The cost to participate is $15.00 per event or $30.00 for a family per event. “It’s actually for our Live.Love.Local Cancer Assistance Program and unfortunately we have a lot in our community that are affected by cancer and so all the proceeds for that actually go back into the Cancer Assistance Program for United Way,” explained Bonaquisto. The Live.Love.Local Cancer Assistance program was formed to emotionally and financially support local families battling cancer in our area. United Way is administering the fund to assist with medical bills, medical supplies, and new wigs and travel expenses.
