Coming up this Friday June 14 the Lunatic Triathlon will take place in Price. This is the 10th year of the event that is an extremely unique race.
The event takes place at night under the full moon. This years event will have a few different variations.
The kids triathlon will start at 8:00 p.m., and is completely free thanks to Little Learners Daycare. At 9:00 p.m. the off-road triathlon will start and will consist of a swim in the pool with the waves on and then head up onto “C” hill to Luke’s trail and then an off-road run. At 10:00 p.m. the main event starts with a 5K, swim and road run.
The Lunatic also allows teams if you would like to get friends or family members together. They even have a business division with a traveling trophy going to the winner for bragging rights for the next year.
Coming in August there will be a smaller one in Helper. It will include a 5K, nine mile bike ride and a 200 yard swim. The extreme version will include kayaking in the Price River.
