The Emery Spartan volleyball team opened the 2019 campaign on the road in Manti, coming away with a hard earned victory.

Coming off a 13-12 season (5-5 in region) Coach Kris Bell had the lady Spartans ready. Winning the first set 29-27, Emery would go on to win the second set 25-23 and then had a little breathing room in the final set coming out with the victory 25-20.

Emery will play in an all new region this year with teams from Carbon, San Juan, Richfield, South Sevier and Grand. Mostly familiar faces, the majority of the teams were in Region 15 with them last year.

Emery will take to the floor again Tuesday when they will host Altamont, that game is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.. Their first Region game will be on September 5, when they will take on Grand High School and their first region home match will be September 12 when they host the Carbon Dinos.
