Nola Thompson Vogrinec passed away peacefully on September 3, 2019 at the age of 95.
She was born November 4, 1923 to Thomas Christian Thompson and Maude Worthen Thompson in Ferron, Utah. She was the youngest of three children, Ellner Thompson Brereton and Preston Thompson, both preceding her in death.
Nola married Harry William Vogrinec on May 27, 1942 in Price; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on July 22, 1964. Harry passed away in 2011.
Harry and Nola were blessed with two children, Jeffrey (Carolyn) of Helper and Terry (Marilyn) of Helper.
They lived in Ferron, Hiawatha and in 1960 moved to Price. Summers always meant a trip to Ferron Reservoir and canning all the produce from the garden. Nola loved pinochle and played often with a group of friends. She worked as a “School Lunch Lady” for fifteen years – working at Durrant and Price Elementary. She was an exceptional seamstress, quilter and could crochet like no one else.
Nola served in several positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as secretary for the M.I.A., secretary for the Sunday School and in the extraction program.
Nola is survived by her two sons and their spouses; four grandchildren, Kirk Vogrinec, South Jordan, UT; Cory (Paulie) Vogrinec, Helper, UT; Ryan (Margit) Vogrinec, Duvall, WA; Jason Vogrinec, Seattle, WA; along with nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
