The Carbon County Chamber is dedicated to enhancing the retail, commercial, industrial and civic interests in Carbon County and they are looking to fill eight vacancies on the Board of Directors

“To be on the Carbon County Chamber Board of Directors your business does have to be a member of the chamber, you don’t have to be a member right now if you’re just being nominated, but you do have to agree later on if you do get voted in to the Chamber Board, you have to join the chamber,” said Executive Chamber Director, Deserae Stevenson. The position will require attendance at various chamber events such as ribbon cuttings, monthly luncheons and board meetings. Individuals interested in helping businesses grow and connect with the community, and other businesses will be committing to a two-year term if chosen.

The process to nominate an individual or yourself is quite easy. “I do have an application that I would have to send over to somebody, to whom every would like it, and in the back, it just says, What are you involved in? What other boards are you a part of? What initiatives are you apart of within the community? And why you would want to be on the board? That just gives us an idea for the committee that’s going to be looking over all the applications to kind of make sure that, one, they have the time to do it; two, they understand what we do and we want to make sure that we are getting people on the board for the right reasons,” stated Stevenson. The last day to submit an application is on October 1 at 5:00 pm.
