The Emery County Historical Society invites the community out to enjoy the splendor os the San Rafael as they travel to the Swasey Cabin and Lone Warrior pictograph. This trip will take place on Saturday, September 28 and attendees are asked to meet at 9:30 am at the Mayor’s Park in Ferron.
The group will travel to the Swasey Cabin that was built in 1921 by Joe Swasey and his sons along with a few others. A history presentation will be shared by Frances Swasey. The day will finish by traveling to the nearby Lone Warrior pictograph where guests will learn about the unusual rock art. Guests are urged to bring a lunch, chairs, bug spray/sunscreen and plenty of water. A high clearance vehicle is suggested as well.
The Emery County Historical Society is a group of people who enjoy learning about history. Members of the group who meet once a month for a public meeting are some local historians or history buffs. Most of the monthly meetings feature a guest that presents an aspect of history that is related to the Castle Country area.
The cost to attend monthly events/meeting is annual dues of $5.00 per person.
