Janet “Renee” Olson, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2019. She was born in Rexburg, Idaho on September 25, 1932 to Paul and Hawley Jenkins. She was raised primarily in Wellington, Utah with her sisters’ Raquel and Kelly. She later married the love of her life, Kenneth P. Olson on April 20, 1957. Together they raised 3 children: Vikki, Tracy, and Kip.

She worked and retired at Becton Dickinson, where she enjoyed all the many friendships she made over the years. Her love for her grandchildren was second to none. Along with the love for her family and friends, she also enjoyed traveling with her husband in their fifth-wheel trailer, her faith, jewelry, and caring for her plants, especially her beloved orchids. One of her favorite past times was jumping in her 1967 convertible Mustang driving around searching for hidden antiques at yard sales to add to her prized collection. Even when she was struggling with her health, she was always the life of the party, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her sister, Kelly (Lannie) Burnside; her children, Vikki Christensen and Kip (Sherrie) Olsen; 3 nephews and 1 niece; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Raquel and Jim Schade; her daughter, Tracy; her son-in-law, Clark Christensen; and her beloved grandson, Brandon Olson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street, Price, Utah where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
