Carbon County, Utah– Officer-Involved Critical Incident
A multi-agency investigation led by the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office which began on September 10, 2019, was submitted to the Carbon County Attorney’s Office for review. The investigation followed the critical incident involving a Wellington City police officer that resulted in the death of Bobby Ray Duckworth. The Carbon County Attorney has approved the release of the body-worn camera footage of this incident. With the permission of Wellington City Police Department, we are providing the unedited body-worn camera footage and a video providing some context and explanation. We understand that time may not allow the full footage to be aired but ask that all media outlets advise the public that the complete explanation video, as well as the unedited version, will be available on the Carbon County Sheriff’s Facebook Page. A link to this footage will also be located on the Carbon County website (www.carbon.utah.gov) along with the Carbon County Attorney’s letter finding justification.
We would like to thank you for your patience as this investigation was carried out.
