Emery Ladies Tennis traveled to region tournaments last week. The singles were hosted by Richfield and doubles in Monroe at South Sevier. Both groups were very successful, with all groups finishing in the top five and qualifying for the state tournament to be held this weekend at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City.
Jodynn Wolford would breeze through her first two matches in the 1st singles bracket winning both in straight sets, unfortunately she would fall in the championship round to Richfield to end in second place.
Morgan Hughes would struggle in her first match in second singles falling to Carbon in her first match. She would go on to win her final two matches to finish in fifth place. Carllie Bennett would do the same in third singles finishing in fifth as well.
On the doubles side of the bracket, the duo of Jessie Nicholson and Haley Guymon would win their first two matches and fall to Richfield in the championship match, ending with a second place finish.
The second doubles squad of Megan Hess and Shaylee Grange would win their first two matches in straight sets, and then would also fall to Richfield in the championship, finishing in second place in region.
