Our loving husband, father, uncle, brother, Roger Kenneth McKinnon Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 20, 2019 at Castleview Hospital.

He was born December 18, 1957, to Roger Kenneth Sr. and Rose Ann Saracino in Los Angeles, California. He married Jolene Velasquez on October 21, 1983 in Price, Utah. Together they shared 36 wonderful years of marriage.

Roger was employed at Rhino Mine at the time of his passing. He worked at numerous area coal mines and was a proud miner. Roger gave all his co-workers a hard time and was a practical joker, but was very well respected among those he worked with. As a fire boss, Roger was tasked with looking after his fellow miners, and he took that job serious. He also survived the Willow Creek Mine Disaster on July 31, 2000.

Roger loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and shooting. He especially liked to collect vintage ammunition. He loved his dogs and grand-dogs, but most of all he loved and took immense pride in his wife and daughter. His greatest joy was Rebecca, and treated her like a princess, and was thrilled that she found the love of her life Joe, who was the son he always wanted. He knows that his girls will be in good hands with Joe.

He is survived by his wife Jolene McKinnon, Price; daughter, Rebecca (Joseph) Evans, South Jordan, UT; brother and sisters, Larry (Shelly) McKinnon, Wellington, Michelle (Elmer) Chaparro, San Antonio, TX, Lillian (Randy) Gold, Price, Rosanne (John) Stephen, Price; mother-in-law, Sarah Velasquez, Price; brother and sisters-in law, Mark (Kim) Velasquez, Lehi, Utah, Darlene (Gary) Jerant, West Valley, UT, Julie Adderley, Price; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Walter Velasquez; and brother-in-law Rick Velasquez.
