The Emery Spartan swim teams welcomed North Sanpete and Payson to the Emery County Aquatic Center on Thursday in their final meet until after the Christmas Break.

The ladies used five first place finishes to solidify the overall spot with 418 points. Payson High School would finish in second with 328 and North Sanpete third with 126 points. The men racked up 267 points which would put them in second behind Payson’s 405. North Sanpete would finish third with 206.

Haley Guymon would take first place in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:16.38,  Cambrie Jensen finished in second at 2:28.24. Kaelee Hooley would claim first place in the 100 yard fly registering a time of 1:09.45. In the 500 yard free Alejandra Garcia posted a time of 6:50.93 for the victory. Guymon would also place first in the 100 yard breaststroke clocking in at 1:13.11.

As for relays the team of Guymon, Hooley, Jensen and Abby Johansen claimed victory in the 200 yard free relay with a time of 1:53.43.

The boys would have four second place finishes on the day. In the 200 yard freestyle Elias Morris finished with a time of 2:14.61. Kyler Minchey had a time of 2:44.66 in the 200 yard individual medley. McCoy Allinson registered a time of 6:37.10 in the 500 yard freestyle, and the relay team of Morris, Allinson, Jacob Fauver and Matthew Hanson put down a time of 4:11.45.

The Spartans will now enter the break and won’t take to the water again until January 7 when they travel to Vernal to take on Uintah High School.
