Our beautiful Ashlie Dawn (“Teensa”) Logston peacefully passed away on December 19, 2019, after a very preventable and tragic accident ten days earlier.

She was born on January 3, 1979 to her loving parents, Donnie and Carol (Reynolds) Logston and was welcomed home by her big brother, J.D., whom she idolized from that day forward. Raised in East Carbon, she was very active and participated in Cheer, basketball, volleyball, softball, speech, drama, FBLA, FHA and Peer leader. She loved music, dancing, singing, children (especially her beloved niece, Kyah Lola Logston), animals, the great outdoors – camping, hiking, fishing, some hunting, and of late, arrowhead hunting. She sure had the eye for them!

A proud graduate of East Carbon High School, Class of ’97 (“Mighty Vikings”), she also attended CEU and Salt Lake Community College. She was a caregiver to a very special lady at the time of her passing.

Ashlie was an amazing young lady. She was sassy, feisty, spunky, mischievous and full of _ _ _ _ and vinegar! She had an unforgettable laugh, and if you’ve ever heard it, you know what we mean. If you crossed her, her family, or her friends, you were in big trouble! But she had the biggest, kindest, most loving heart that you could ever imagine. Sadly, sometimes others took advantage of this. She was the most non-judgmental person that you could ever hope to meet, and she was an advocate for those who were downtrodden and troubled. We should all learn from her example.

Her life wasn’t always easy. At an early age, she was diagnosed with a mental illness and suffered from it, on and off, for her entire life. She experienced depression and anxiety and other unpleasant side effects, often causing a roller coaster of emotions. As a result, there were times she didn’t do what was best for her. But when life knocked her down, she always got up, brushed herself off, and refused to let her illness get the best of her. We pray that she can help those of us she left behind to find the strength to do the same.

Although our hearts are broken beyond belief, we are very happy that she will no longer experience any emotional, physical or mental pain ever again. She is free and safe at last. Fly with the angels Ash!

She was amazing with her ability to understand and fix things. Computers, phones and other electronic items was no match for her. Once, after having two well-known auto mechanics try, and fail, to fix her cars security system that was preventing her car from starting, she dug into it and fixed it herself and away she went! I think those mechanics were a little embarrassed! She wasn’t afraid to tackle anything!

Ashlie’s love was truly unconditional, and she desired the same from others. This, she got from her family. We loved her so very much. Upon parting, she always said, “We always need to say “I love you” because we never know if we will ever see each other again.” This we did, just 30 minutes before the accident.   To honor her, please remember to say those words to those you love.

She is survived by her parents, brother J.D. and niece, Kyah Lola, J.D.’s girlfriend, Teressa Hess and her daughter Dadeian, Midvale, UT., sister, Vanessa (Keith) Mahana, Eagle, ID., an enormous family of aunts, uncles and cousins, special friend, Colton Price, her fur babies, Angel and Rebel, and countless friends, who she considered family as well.
