A Community Education Dinner to talk about the current Opioid Crisis affecting both Carbon and Emery Counties will be held on Monday, January 6 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This informational dinner will be held in the Swell Conference Room of the historic Emery County Court House at 75 East Main in Castle Dale.

There was a similar dinner held in Carbon County back in November as Dr. Ashely Yaugher explains, “We held one on November 4 and we had a really good turnout. We had about 111 people attend and people said even if they known a lot of the information that they got at the dinner, they still really enjoyed our Expert Panel afterwards to ask questions and get some real answers from real people in the community.” This is open to all members of the community who are interested in learning more on the current crisis.

Attendees will listen to presentations about Naloxone/Narcan Training, Harm Reduction, Prevention, Treatment for Substance Use Disorder and learn about Resources for Treatment and Recovery. “A good group of people who can directly provide services and resources that will be there. They are on the Carbon Emery Opioid and Substance Coalition so we got a lot of great key stake holders in our communities that are coming together to be there. So they will be there to screen questions and help people find where they can go. We’ll also be giving out a Resource Booklet with all of the numbers and contact information for resources in our community,” said Dr. Yaugher. Also, there will be a survey provided at the event to complete about the learnings objectives and presentation.
