The Lady Spartans took part in the Central Utah Preview on the campus of Snow College in Richfield on Friday and Saturday. They played two games in as many days and returned home with a 2-0 record.

The Spartans are 6-4 the season and currently ranked number seven in the RPI ranking system. The initial results came out on Thursday the 19th and will be updated weekly. These rankings will be used to set the field for the State Playoffs in February.

Friday December 19- North Sanpete- 12 Emery- 53

In the first game they would dominate the North Sanpete Hawks. Emery would hold them scoreless in the first and third quarters on their way to an easy victory.

Hailey Allred would score 12 in this one to go with her two rebounds and seven steals. Makieya Bertuzzi would also score 12 with eight rebounds and six steals and Kiri Cook would drop in nine points and grab four rebounds to go with two assists.

This was a total team effort as Emery would register 29 total steals in this game to go with nine players scoring.

Saturday December 20- Manti- 36 Emery- 49

In game two the Spartans would face the Templars from Manti in a much closer game.

The Spartans jumped out to a 16-10 first quarter lead and then would hold Manti to just two points in the second quarter running their halftime lead to 30-12. The Spartans were actually out scored in the second half 24-19 but the damage had already been done as Emery held on for the 13 point win.

Leading all scorers in this game was Tambrie Tuttle with 14 points, she also had four rebounds and three assists. Baylee Jacobson would add 11 with five rebounds and four steals and Kiri Cook collected 10 points to go with her four rebounds.

The Lady Spartans will now head into the Christmas break. They will take to the floor again on January 3 as they travel to Vernal to take on Uintah. They will open region play at home on January 7 when they welcome Richfield to the Spartan Center.
