Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Bob Porter, age 74, passed away December 18, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was born July 7, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John D. and Dorothy Birrell Porter.

Married Georgene Poulos on June 16, 1990 in Salt Lake City.

Bob graduated from Carbon High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1963.  He served two tours to Vietnam aboard the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany.  After the Navy he attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Business.  He worked for the 7-Up Company in many states before returning to Price in 1975 to take over their family business, Ideal Beverages, with his brother Brad.  In 1989 the business was sold and he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he spent the next 30 years doing what he loved, playing golf and betting ball games.

Survived by his wife, Georgene Porter, Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters, Laurie (Matt) Sidwell, Tulsa, OK., Melissa Braley, Kansas City, MO.; granddaughter, Mia Braley; sister and brother in law, Ted and Pam Makris; nieces and nephews, Alex Poulos, George, Ahnika and Alexandra Makris, Katina Curtis.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brad Porter.

Funeral service, Saturday, December 28, 2019, 11:00 a.m., Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.

Trisagion service, Friday evening, 7:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday and Saturday one hour prior to service.  Interment, Price City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church window restoration fund, P.O.
