Our beloved father, grandpa, uncle and longtime friend and neighbor, Raul L. Mena, age 79, passed away December 28, 2019 at his home.
He was born January 15, 1940 in Delta, Colorado to Arthur and Frances Ledezma Mena. Married Margaret Rose Hunter, January 26, 1974 in Wellington, Utah; they later divorced.
Raul was a longtime resident of East Carbon who retired from E.C.D.C. He honorably served in the US Navy and was a member of the V.F.W. Miners Post # 2379. While residing in the Salt Lake City, Raul was known for his excellent barbering skills. Raul was always well groomed and took great pride in his appearance and vehicles. He was a true gentlemen who was well respected by all. Raul enjoyed hunting, fishing and gambling until he no longer could.
Raul is survived by his son, Bryan (Lisa) Mena, East Carbon; daughter, Monica (Jake) Nyland, Rock Springs, WY; sister, Irene (Gary) Cahoon, Layton; brother, Robert (Peggy) Mena, Salt Lake City; daughter-in-law, Lori Mena, Chico, CA; special friend, Rosa Jackson; six grandchildren, Daniel, Jesse, Amberia, Jeryk, Jakobi and Marlee; four great-grandchildren, Bobby, Anastasia, Little Daniel and Lennen.
Preceded in death by his parents and son, Scott Mena.
Funeral service, Friday, January 3, 2020, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where family will received friends one hour prior to service. Interment, Valley View Cemetery, Sunnyside, Utah.
