Mary Krompel German, age 96 passed away December 29, 2019 in Mesquite, Nevada.
She was born in Sunnyside, Utah, March 26, 1923 to Ludvig and Anna Kadunc Krompel. She was the second child of 6 children. Her early preschool years were spent in Sunnyside in a 2 room cement miners camphouse, where her father worked in the coal mine and later the Coke ovens. Her parents moved their young family and purchased 20+ acres south of Price where she grew up. Life was very hard. Her father passed when Mary was a teenager. Mary attended the Price schools.
She married Tony Hribar when she was just 18, a year after her father passed. Later divorced. One daughter was born during this marriage, Mary Antonette Hribar.
March 5, 1948, she married Dewey W Henderson in Nevada but divorced after 37 years. Three children were born of this marriage, Robert D Henderson, Lynette Henderson and David W. Henderson.
She met William (Bill) Dan German when taking her son Robert to the hospital emergency, they became quick friends, both had lost a spouse. They married in Chattahoogie, Florida. Bill German passed away in Feb 2006. Before his passing Mary cared for him and all his health problems, even spending all her time caring for him during his final days in care centers in Price.
Mary later moved to Mesquite, Nevada to be near to her son Robert who was in a Care Center. She joined him in the Center when she fell and fractured hip and needed more assistance, she delighted in the social activities, Hair/nail Salon, and opportunities for church, crafts and entertainment, singing, Karoke, etc until her health further deteriorated after her son, Robert passed July 2019.
Mary was a perfectionist, she was known to her family, relatives and friends for her talents in cooking, baking, and seamstress skills and talents who, when as young mother lovingly sewed for her children and herself. She loved to dress up, and took great pride in being well dressed and caring for herself that she had to do without so much as a young child/teenager coming from a struggling family life,. She took pride in doing any job well, including yard and house work and employment. She worked in several local drug stores and department stores-such as Dupler Fur Co. in Salt Lake, Penney and Cornet stores in Price. She especially loved working with the Price School Food service, cooking and serving children lunches. We all benefited from her recipes and joy of cooking. Her Homemade bread and pies were second to none. Both her daughters benefited from all those talents that were so dear to her. She loved to crochet many beautiful things. She loved to fish, loved the Jazz, loved watching and feeding her wild birds and loved her cats. She spent much time with her husband enjoying these hobbies. We will all miss her dearly, but we will remember all the special things she taught and shared with us and now, we share and teach our children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by parents and husbands, all her siblings- Frank, Joseph (Loa), William (Leah), Annie (Stirling) Wilson, Carolyn McCurdy a son-Robert Henderson and 1 great grandson.
