Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Yvonna Gibson Olson, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2020.

She was born March 14, 1930 in Castle Gate, Utah to Howard and Pansy Clontz Gibson.

Married Harold Simpson on June 10, 1948 in Castle Gate, Utah; they later divorced. Married L.C. “Olie” Olson on November 22, 1972 in Wendover, Utah; he died January 4, 2006.

Yvonna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1948 where she enjoyed many reunions with her classmates. Yvonna loved spending time with her family, traveling and bowling. She was blessed with many wonderful friends.

Survived by her children, Paula Simpson, Wellington, Dean (Pam) Simpson, Fruita, CO, Buddy (Carla) Simpson, East Carbon; step-children, Brent (Judie) Olson, Tammy (Dave) Hoffman, Tonya and John Gianini, all of Price; brother, Johnny Gibson, West Valley; grandchildren, Brian (Chelsey) Axtell, Jeremy (Caren) Simpson, Justin (Josh) Simpson, Tami (Johnny) Woodruff, Jerry Shepherd, Wade Shepherd, RaeLynn Simpson, Scott (Jamie) Simpson, Teresa Simpson, Monica (Shane) Baggs, Tina (Mike) Moore, Kim Heaton, Terry (Tonya) Olson; 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Olie; daughter, Karen Shepherd; brother, Mose Gibson; grandson, Dirk Bierschied; and granddaughter, Billy Gentry Brown.

Funeral service, Friday, January 31, 2020, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery.
