The HOPE Squad of Carbon, Emery & Grand Counties is hosting a Leap with HOPE event on Saturday, February 29 at 11:00 am at the Carbon County Events Center. This informational event is open to all members of the community.

“So when people come to the event up at the fairgrounds each participant will be handed a bag that they can put their goodies in as well as a punch card and they will be invited to go around to each of the booths that are going to be there and if you make your way around to visit every booth, you’ll drop your punch card in for a chance to win a grand prize,” said Suicide Prevention Specialist Amanda McIntosh. Guests will be able to have a chance at several prizes that have been donated by many of the merchants in town.

There will be several organizations that will be participating in the event such as Southeast Utah Health Department, Castleview Hospital, Four Corners Community Behavioral Health and many more. “We have a plethora of resources in our area that I think are underused and undervalued so we want to bring attention to the wonderful work they are doing to make our community as a whole, healthier,” said McIntosh. There is still time to signup for booth space by contacting the Southeast Utah Health Department.

“The hospital has been gracious enough to donate food, so there will be snacks as you make your way around the room and it’s just going to be a fun day to leap into spring, leap into HOPE with the community. It’s very kid-driven, kid-friendly, we want everyone to come out and participate and just learn about the different programs that are available to them,” said McIntosh.
