Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend to all, Melvin Lewis Larsen, 79, passed away peacefully March 6, 2020 in Orem, Utah.

He was born March 9, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clyde Lewis and Edith Baker Larsen. On April 21, 1960, he married Jane Noyes; they later divorced.

Melvin was a longtime resident of the area and a friend to all. He loved to visit and always enjoyed a good laugh. Melvin touched the lives of many and treated everyone as if they were his lifelong friend. He was a retired member of the United Mine Workers of America District 22 for over 50 years and 30 year member of the Alcoholics Anonymous. Melvin loved the outdoors, especially camping, hunting, fishing and working on his little farm. He shared a special love for tractors, fast cars and will be dearly missed by all.

Melvin is survived by one son and three daughters, Clint (Teresa) Larsen, Draper, Jaylene (Mac) Cook, Elko, NV, Janell Larsen Pease, Thorndale, TX, Amie (Chris) Pittelli, Mapleton; three brothers, Phil (Shanna) Larsen, Salem, Mont (Kriss) Larsen, Wellington, Jimmy (Gaylene) Larsen, Lake Shore, UT; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, great-grandson, Zacharee Larsen; and two sisters, Rhea and Beverly Larsen.

Funeral service, Friday, March 13, 2020, 10:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service.
