Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Loa Ann Huff Krompel, age 93, passed away March 31, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Loa was born May 25, 1926, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Charles Edward and Anne Warner Huff. Loa Ann grew up in Castle Gate, Utah. She was a graduate of Carbon County High and enjoyed her school years. On September 30, 1944, she married Joseph Krompel. World War II took them to Tacoma, Washington. They later resided in Price, Utah working side-by-side on their farm.

She enjoyed many hobbies, especially crocheting and taught others to crochet. She had a sassy wit about her and could always make you laugh. Loa Ann led a life of service and was a devoted caregiver.

Loa enjoyed surprising her family and friends with homemade treats and meals. At the age of 14 she began playing the piano and later the organ for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her music was enjoyed and requested for many weddings and funerals throughout her life. Loa Ann loved preparing lessons for the nursery, taught Relief Society, primary, and served in the library. She made lasting friendships. She was a loving and caring mother who raised three girls. Her grandchildren could always find her in the audience of every event. She loved doing service anonymously, chocolate, and anything red, especially red lipstick.

“Special Gratitude to Canyon Home Care/Hospice and Rocky Mountain Home Health. A special thank you to Zach Miller, Karen Gailey and all caregivers.”

Loa Ann is survived by her daughters, Lou Ann Pecorelli and Betty Jo Hartley (Jim); brother, Clifford Udell; 11 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; parents; sister, Rosetta; four brothers, Bernell, Verl, Leon, and Bert Huff; a stillborn son; daughter, Ruth; and son-in-law Mike Pecorelli.
