Thursday’s Drive Time Sports featured a three-part interview with former Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Fred Claire, was the architect of the 1988 World Series Championship squad.
In 2015, Fred was diagnosed with skin cancer that later migrated to his jaw. The odds were against his survival, but he was determined. This time, he found his championship team at City of Hope National Medical center in Duarte, California.
A new book “Extra Innings: Fred Claire’s Journey to City of Hope and Finding a World Championship Team”, written by Tim Madigan, is currently available for pre-order. All the net proceeds will go to City of Hope.
