Emily Wallace, age 64, died on June 6, 2020, at Utah Valley Hospital. Beloved daughter, sister, aunt and great-aunt was born August 20, 1955, to Grant Hobbs Wallace and Lelia Liddell Wallace in Wheeling, WV. Emily was a sweet surprise to her older siblings Rita, Karen, and Scott. Her birth was much anticipated, but after hearing he had another sister Scott quickly tried to trade Emily to a neighbor for his new Ford Fairlane. However, after seeing her Scott changed his mind.
The Wallace family returned to Utah in 1964; then shortly after moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming. There Emily completed school, graduating from Rock Springs High School in 1973. Emily lived in San Diego and Phoenix for many years before returning to Price in 1995 to help care for her mother and to be closer to family and her great-nephew.
Emily worked at several places in Price, including SIS, Praxair and WETech, making many friends along the way. She stayed in contact with as many of them as she could. Over the past several years, Emily faced many health challenges and had overcome so many obstacles. She enjoyed spending time with her special friend Mary Israel and being “grandma” and friend to her neighbors and their children. Family history was very important to Emily and she spent countless time working on the Wallace and Liddell histories. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Log Cabin Camp in Wellington because she had such a strong tie with the original pioneers to Utah. She wanted to make sure that her great nieces and nephews had pictures and stories of their family; this year each of them received a photo album handmade by Emily that will be a family keepsake for years to come.
Emily was affectionately called “Auntie Em” by her nieces Marjorie, Marianne, and Jeannie, as Emily was like a second mom to each of them. Her “greats” called her Aunt Emmy; they each held a special place in her life, and she loved when they would come and visit. Recently, Emily had discovered a love for a “frozen Coke” and she was looking forward to enjoying her favorite treat again. Emily will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who all know that she is so happy to be reunited with her parents, especially her dad.
Emily is survived by her sister Karen (Jim) Krpan, Price, UT; nieces and nephews, Marjorie (Rob) Budrow, Ogden, UT, Marianne (Marc) Shiner, Price, UT, Jeannie (Mike) Bullard, Rigby, ID, Renee (Chuck) Nunn, Logan, UT, Russell (Liz) Martin, Atlanta, GA, Marla (Larry) Kinnersley, Surprise, AZ, and Scott (Patience) Wallace, Casper, WY; as well as great-nieces and nephews, Cameron and Devan Shiner, Hailey, Brooklyn and Xander Bullard, Gillian Wallace, Sara and Ella Kinnersley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rita Martin; brother, Scott Wallace; brother-in-law, Bob Martin; and sister-in-law Barbara Wallace.
