The 2020-21 high school sports season is right around the corner and those that will run through the fall months are gearing up for action.

The first official contest for Carbon High School will take place on the golf course as the Dinos travel on July 27. Region will then follow on Aug. 12 at Round Valley, the homesite of this year’s 3A State Championship. The golf team will be led by first year head coach Robbie Etzel.

Football will open the season on Aug. 14 in a home contest against American Leadership Academy on KRPX 95.3 The Peak. Entering season one under head coach Phil Howa, the Dinos will play three of the first four games of the season at home. The first region game of the year will be Sept. 18 on the road against Richfield.

The cross country team will start the season on Aug. 15 at the Premier Invitational. The boy’s team will look to defend their 3A state title through eight separate meets, including the Region Championship on Oct. 13 at home. Sept. 16 will mark the only other home meet for the Dinos as they play host to the Carbon Invitational.

Soccer will open the season on Thursday, Aug. 6 at home against the Union Cougars. The final home game will take place Sept. 29 against the Grand Red Devils. The opening round of the State Championship Tournament is scheduled for mid October.

The volleyball season will begin for Carbon when they host Juab on Aug. 18. The Lady Dinos will travel for a heavy road schedule that includes six of the first eight tilts on the road.

Girl’s tennis will begin their season at home against the Union Cougars on Monday, Aug. 10. That will be the first of two straight home meets. The season will continue throughout the month of September, with the State Tournament beginning on Friday, Oct. 2.
