An angel has returned to her heavenly home.  Jill Crook King Haley passed peacefully at home on August 13, 2020, surrounded by her loving family and visited by her many friends.

Jill was born to James N. and Kathleen Greenhalgh Crook on April 26, 1962 in Payson, Utah.  She was the second of six children.

At 22 months, Jill was scalded when she impatiently pulled a pan with a boiling egg on top of her.  The next two years of her life were spent in and out of Primary Children’s Hospital.  This was the first of many physical trials that she overcame graciously and patiently.  Those experiences made her tolerant and compassionate of others and their trials; she made the world a better place because she cared and loved.

After graduation from Payson High School she was a nanny in Boston, Massachusetts.  When she returned to Utah she married William King and became the adoring mother of Matthew and Kimberly.  William and Jill later divorced.

Jill met Mike Haley, the love of her life, while she worked at a bowling alley in Orem.  They married and built a strong marriage and raised Matt and Kimberly in Colorado and Utah.  When they moved to Price, she was hired as the head lunch lady at Castle Valley Center.  “Miss Jill” loved the students and co-workers at CVC and they loved her.  Though the lunch lady, she helped with the annual dances, decorating, preparing food and chaperoning.  They even took her on field trips.  Jill loved life in all aspects.  She loved her family and was devoted to them.  She loved her grandchildren; becoming a grandma was a crowning moment in her life.  She loved fishing; Pete’s hole will never be the same without her.  She loved people and served them by building decks, landscaping yards, chopping and stacking wood, building porch decorations, etc.  She loved nature and waking up to a heard of bucks in the field was always a treat for her as well as keeping a sharp eye out for deer and elk when traveling.  She loved excursions and train rides and 4-wheeling were her favorites.  She loved her extended family and did her best to stay in contact with all family.  She loved simple pleasures such as bubbles, glow sticks, marbles, the color blue, buttons, water fights, horses, cooking, gardening and crocheting.  Jill always put others first! She set aside her own feelings, desires and hurts to serve others.  She never judged; she loved totally and unconditionally.  Her Christ-like love and selfless service will be missed by all.

Survived by her husband, Mike; mother, Kathleen; children, Matthew (Amy) King, Kimberly (Lance) Farley; grandchildren, Amber and Samuel; four brothers and a sister; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her father.

A celebration of Jill’s life will be Tuesday, August 18, 2020, 11:00 a.m., Price 6th Ward (303 West 500 South) in Price.  In accordance with COVID-19 the services will be restricted and it will be live streamed on Mitchell Funeral Home’s website.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
