Cathy Ellen Farnes Larsen, our spitfire of a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, age 86, passed away August 17, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family.

Cathy was born December 24, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harold Raymond and Catherine Nellie Lord Farnes.  She spent her childhood in Salt Lake City. Cathy married Richard (Dick) Lamar Larsen on January 26, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married for 56 years prior to his passing on January 9, 2006. Together they raised four children.

Cathy was an exceptional groomer, who loved to take care of all animals and creatures. She worked at the animal hospital for many years. She had an adventurer spirit and was fearless. Cathy was very sassy and loved to give people a hard time. She was always honest and told people how things were. She will be dearly missed by everyone who’s known and loved her.

Cathy is survived by her children, Colleen (Paul) Gotberg, Venice Kula, Darlene Starley, Monty (Cheresa) Larsen; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, husband, and two grandchildren.

The family would like to thank nurse Tammy, who Mom absolutely loved.  Thank you for your kind heart and incredible care.

Funeral service, Friday, August 21, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Burial will be in the Huntington City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
