Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Pablo Ernesto Jaramillo, AKA “You Damn it You”, passed away peacefully August 22, 2020 at the Heirloom Inn in Price where he resided for the past four years.

He was born April 12, 1926 in Edith, New Mexico to Eudoro and Pilar Salazar Jaramillo.  As a child, Pablo learned how to live off the land and provide for his family.  He helped his family by caring for the animals, planting crops, and creating childhood memories at the “La Joya”.  On April 19, 1948, he married the love of his life Angie Gonzales at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in East Carbon.  She preceded him in death on October 13, 2015.

Pablo was a longtime resident of East Carbon and a devoted member of the United Mine Workers of America, Horse Canyon Local # 9958 where he was a member for 69 years.  He was passionate about mining and truly loved working alongside his buddies.  Pablo enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting, camping and driving around town in his 51 Chevy (The Bomb).  Pablo was a man who left a lasting impression on everyone. His word and friendship will be cherished for generations.  “Thanks for the memories Pablo, may you rest in peace”.

Survivors include his son and three daughters, Harold Jaramillo & Jenai, Spring Glen, Valerie Sanchez & Bill Hutson, Barbara (Jethro) Thomas, both of East Carbon, Paula “Sunshine” Jaramillo, Gunnison, CO; three sisters, Rebecca (Rudy) Vialpondo, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Salome (Al) Alvarez, St. George, Dulcinia (Pres) Alcon, Blanco, New Mexico; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Johnny Paul and Jerry Jaramillo; grandsons, Jason, Quincy and Chad; brothers, Flaminio, Eudoro and Ruben; and a sister Juanita Gallegos.

Pablo’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire staff at the Heirloom Inn, especially Kori who always took the time to play hand games with him and make Pablo laugh.  Also, a special thanks to Symbii Home Health and Hospice and Mitchell Funeral Home for always making Pablo part of your family.
