
The Emery Lady Spartans opened the Region 12 volleyball season with a dominating performance, topping the South Sevier Rams in straight sets Tuesday evening at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale.
Easily winning the first set 25-8, Emery squeaked out the second set 25-23. The game came to a close with another lopsided affair as the Lady Spartans earned a 25-9 win.
Senior Bralin Wilde recorded seven of the team’s 29 kills to lead Emery in the win. Kaejha Johnson finished with six and Madisyn Childs logged six.
Junior Brynn Gordon had a solid night as she finished with a game-high seven serving aces, two kills and 10 digs.
Now 4-2 overall, the Lady Spartans will take a pause in Region 12 play as they return to the court Thursday with a road contest against Altamont.
League play will continue for Emery on Tuesday with a home game against the Grand Red Devils. The team will then play three consecutive road games, two of which will be league tilts against Carbon and Richfield.
