Carbon soccer was recently ranked No. 5 in the 3A state wide RPI and they tried it out on Thursday as they welcomed the San Juan Broncos to Price. The Dinos were coming off of an 8-0 victory over South Sevier on Tuesday as they opened region play. In the match up with the Broncos , Carbon jumped out to a quick 3-0 first half lead, finishing them off and taking the contest 5-2.

The Dinos were ranked at No.5 in the Utah High School Activities Association’s initial RPI rankings that came out on Wednesday. This will determine at the end of the season the seeding for the state tournament. At five they are the top rated team in the region with Richfield right behind them at six and San Juan sitting at No. 10.

Freshman Amiah Timothy led the way for the Dinos with two goals. Kinley Cowdell, Molly Banks and Beverly Lancaster all added one goal each. In between the pipes Emma Flemett grabbed seven saves.

The Dinos will have two away games next against Richfield (9/8) and Grand (9/10).

Their next home match will be against Emery on Tuesday September 15. The match is set to begin at 4:00.
