Castle Country Radio took time to sit down with Price City Police Chief Brandon Sicilia to discuss the upcoming Peer Support Fundraiser and other news taking place at the department.

The upcoming Peer Support Fundraiser is coming up on October 2 and will benefit local law enforcement and EMS personnel. “Sergeant Robertson actually has helped us with the implementation of this Peer Support group that we are starting and it honestly covers every agency around. Generally, law enforcement agencies want Peer Support for law enforcement it’s just not realistic in our society here in Carbon County. We need to focus on the first responders, every first responder sees the same thing, so we need Peer Support for all of them,” stated Chief Sicilia. Sergeant Robertson has undergone the training to construct a Peer Support program. He is working very closely with Fire Chief Fitzgerald Peterson who has years of experience on the job and working with a Peer Support program at his previous job.

This fundraising event would not be possible without the great support of the Southeast Utah Health Department and Four Corners Community Behavioral Health. “They have each donated certain amount of money to the cause. As well as, now the health department is going out and helping us support, they actually started this fundraiser and they’re going to help us with the activities that’s going to go on at the fire department on October 2,” explained Chief Sicilia. The public is welcomed to participate in the event and can make a donation by visiting the fire department on this day.

During the COVID pandemic the PCPD has been helping senior citizens with grocery pick up services. “The one thing that we’ve learned through the process is the majority, not the majority, but some were asking us to pick-up prescriptions. One thing that we can’t do, I can’t allow my officers to go out and pick up prescriptions just because of HIPAA stuff and other than that, yes, Price City Police is continuing the grocery pick-up for anybody that’s unable to leave their house or otherwise closed in,” said Chief Sicilia. Any senior citizens in need of this service can contact the PCPD at (435) 636-3000.

The PCPD is beginning to have a social media presence on both Facebook and Instagram. “Captain Radcliff has recently started our Instagram page in addition to updating our Facebook page and so far, our Facebook page has increased over that last several months with followers. We have more likes, and more engagements and its up 60 percent from what it was in the past,” said Chief Sicilia.
