
The Carbon and Emery Volleyball squads were on the court together for the last time in the regular season. Back on September 3rd when these two teams met up in Price the Dinos claimed the 3-0 victory and have won five of their last six. The Spartans have gone 1-7 in the same stretch and both teams are headed in to the final games of the season. In their meeting on Thursday evening Emery would push Carbon to the limit, but the Dinos would claim the 3-2 victory.
The Dinos jumped out taking the first two sets 25-21 and 25-22. The Spartans fought back taking the next two sets 25-22 and 25-21. Carbon came back taking the fifth and final set 15-12 to seal the win.
Carbon’s record on the season is 14-3 overall and 6-2 in region play. They are also ranked at No. 3 in the state RPI and trail Richfield at No. 2 in conference standings. They are going to be on the road next weekend at the Sevier Valley Center Tournament in Richfield. The next time we will see them in Price will be on October 13th when they will face Grand. These two teams met on September 10th with the Red Devils getting the best of the Dinos 3-1. They will end the season on October 20th on the road in Monroe against South Sevier. The game time for the Grand match is 6:30.
Emery carries the No. 12 RPI with a record of 6-10 overall and 2-6 in region play. They will travel to Blanding to face San Juan on October 14th, in September and the Spartans won 3-2. They will end the regular season on October 20 at home in the Spartan Center against Richfield, game time is set for 6:30.
