Danny Lee Johnson, our beloved “Uncle Danny,” “Papa Danny,” and “Dad” left his mortal life on Saturday, October 24 at home.

He was born April 23, 1942, in Huntington, Utah to Armond Buriah and Blanche Edwards Johnson. He graduated from North Emery High School where he excelled in basketball, track, and practical jokes. He was well-respected in his career at Deer Creek coal mine. Danny had expertise in a variety of fields, particularly: carpentry, hunting, horse training, farming, barbering, electrical, and mechanics. He generously shared his talents and knowledge with those around him and was a patient teacher. Danny was an avid horseman who had a particular fondness for naturally gaited American Saddlebred horses.

Danny married Marie Nelson Guymon and SEVEN children on April 10, 1992. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with his family, especially in the mountains. In his own words, he would have loved “to be buried on the east slope north of the cabin in the mountain where the morning sun can warm the ground.”

He was very involved with his family in all aspects of their lives. He was an active and committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent the past 10 years as a service missionary at Camp Shinob.

He is loved by his surviving family, wife, Marie Johnson; children, Jeff (Joyce) Guymon of Huntington, Angela (Paul) Pulli of Huntington, Heather (Jeff) Nielson of Spring Glen, Brett (Kristy) Guymon of Clawson, Amy (Corbyn) Larson of Bluffdale, Montell (Kristen) Guymon of Peterson, Utah, Tom (Nancy) Guymon of Huntington, and Leedan (Melanie) Johnson of Lindon, Utah; sisters, DeCarma Allred of Huntington, Claudia Wilson of Orem; sister-in-law, Sue Johnson of Huntington; 32 grandchildren who adored their “Papa Danny,” and three great-grandchildren.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Armond and Blanche Johnson; siblings, Bruce and Edward Johnson; brothers-in-law, Gene Wilson and Fred Allred.

Danny leaves a legacy of integrity, hard work, resourcefulness, dedication to family, and faith.

The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Dalen Johnson for his special support and care.
