Our forever 29-year-old mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Alta DeLeeuw Anderson, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 26, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born January 13, 1945 to Glen and Audrey Jones DeLeeuw, she did not meet her father until she was three years old. He was away serving in the army during World War II, and she called him Glen because everyone else did. They quickly made up for lost time. Alta grew up on the family farm and attended school in Bicknell, Utah.

She married her sweet husband, Bryant Anderson on July 22, 1966 for time and all eternity in the Manti temple. They were married for 54 wonderful years.

Alta was a sweet and loving person throughout her journey here on earth. As a disciple of Christ, she carried his light with her, and shared that light through her wisdom and service to others. Part of this service included being the best kindergarten teacher any kid could ask for. She taught for 28 years, and was always pleased to see former students as they grew in life.

As the rock of the family, she had an uncanny way of always keeping an eye on those in need and was always the first one to be sure those needs were met. Her addiction to Dr Pepper, whether warm or cold, had to have helped her in keeping track of those she was serving and in building forts with the grandkids. Her favorite title in life was Grandma, and she loved her grandkids with everything she had. Whether it was quietly reading them a book, playing Pie Face, or jumping on the trampoline, she always wanted to do fun things with them.

Alta is survived by her beloved husband, Bryant Anderson, Castle Dale, UT; children: Brendon (Brandie) Anderson, Beavercreek OH; Kristel Lee, Castle Dale, UT; Justin (Kimberly) Anderson, Eagle Mountain, UT; Alysha (Rob) Stanton, Bountiful UT; 9 grandchildren; siblings: Joyce (James) Taylor, Santa Clara, UT; Wayne DeLeeuw, Mesquite NV,; Connie (John) Schindler, Price, UT and many nieces, nephews, and over 100 first cousins.

She is preceded in death by a granddaughter: BrieAnna Anderson, her parents Glen and Audrey DeLeeuw; and numerous aunts and uncles.

A private viewing for family was held November 28, 2020 at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price. At Alta’s request, there will be a celebration of our sweet Mother’s life later when all her family is able to safely attend.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are welcome to share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
