Christine Passarella Hanson passed away peacefully on November 30, 2020 at Castleview Hospital after a short stay.

She was born in Clear Creek, Utah on May 24, 1922 to Antonio and Mary Ferraro Passarella.  Christine was raised in Carbon County along with five brothers, Frank, Ralph, Fred, Ernie and Art and three sisters, Elva, Emma and Tess all whom preceded her in death.

Christine met her husband Rex Hanson working at the Walgreen Drug Store in Price where Rex was the pharmacist.  They were married at Notre Dame Catholic Church on September 2, 1944 and celebrated 47 years together until his death in 1991.

In 1950 they built their home in Price where they raised four sons.  In 1960 they purchased the Walgreen Drug Store and named it R&C Drug.  While Rex ran the business Christine devoted her life as a home maker raising the boys.  Christine would always share that it was her motherly discipline and the wooden spoon that accounted for the success of her sons.  She and Rex spent many hours watching and supporting the boys participation in sports and school activities.  Both contributed many hours and energy helping at Notre Dame School.  They enjoyed golfing and traveling to visit family.  Christine was proud of her rose garden and well-kept yard.  Her Italian spaghetti sauce (known as gold to her grandkids) and her Christmas cookies and hand dipped chocolate candy were legendary.

Christine is survived by four sons and their spouses, Bryant and Annette, Jacksonville, Florida, Gary and Laurie, Price, Jim and Jennifer, Parker, Colorado, Richard and Melanie, Virginia Beach, Virginia; she was the proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and three great granddaughters.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Kelli and the staff at the Heirloom Inn for their excellent care.  Also thank you to the doctors and nurses at Castleview Hospital.
