carbon-dinos-2-3

After a season that watched them go 20-4 and claim the fourth spot at the 3A State Championship Tournament, the Carbon Dinos had four ladies land on the All-State team for 3A.

The players are voted on by coaches across the state, and every year the list is compiled of the top players in each classification.

Emma Christensen followed up her 2019 Honorable Mention with a first team spot this year. Her 449 kills and 466 digs were enough to put her in the top 10 in the state and No. 1 in kills and No. 2 in digs in 3A. She also added 43 blocks and 34 aces this season as well. Christensen will lace them up again next fall for USU Eastern’s volleyball squad.

Makenna Blanc tallied 823 assists in her senior campaign landing her in the No. 2 spot in 3A. She also garnered 73 blocks and 357 digs while maintaining a 93 serving percentage. After collecting an Honorable Mention in 2018 and a Third Team nod in 2019 she found herself on the first team this year as well. She will also be on the Lady Eagles squad in the Fall of 2021 as she signed a letter of intent on November 16.

Katie Jones another senior earned a second team spot with her 617 digs which placed her at the top of the list in 3A, and No. 2 in the state. Coming off an 2019 Honorable Mention, Jones will join Blanc and Christensen at USU Eastern next fall as the trio will continue their volleyball journey.

Junior Lyndee Mower gathered an Honorable Mention this season with her 390 digs, 168 kills, 20 blocks and 41 serving aces with a 91.5 serving percentage.

We look forward to watching the Dinos trio as they head to USU Eastern next year and to what the season will bring for Carbon as well.
